Ceramic “Ocean Water Cliff” Gaiwan and Tea Boat

This Gaiwan and Tea Boat depict the famous “Ocean Water Cliff (海水江崖纹), an ancient symbol that was typically embroidered on the robes of the Emperor of China.  They symbolize the unifying strength of the Emperor, who acted as ruler, unifier, and benevolent caretaker of the the middle kingdom.

The woven mat sits above the water in the receptacle, but you’ll want to remove the water in the receptacle after each session.  We recommend keeping the woven mat in a dry place in between sessions so it doesn’t get moldy or degrade.
